Pictures from our expedition to Sollipulli Volcano

Sollipulli Volcano is a 2200 meter / 7220 feet high Vulcano north of Huerquehue National Park. It's considerd sleeping, means not active but either dead. The crater has a diameter of 4 kilometers / 13000 feet and is filled with a glacier 600 meter / 2000 feet thick . In summer of 2011 after having explored a way up we did the first ascent on horseback. We got into the crater but could not completely cross, in March of 2012 we gave it a try, accompanied by a film team, the result is a 45 minutes documentary, broadcasted several times on german tv.
